Aerial Photography is a digital image or analogue (film) photograph collected by a camera on an aeroplane. Aerial Photography provides a bird's eye view of the earth's surface and is used in a variety of applications - mapping, planning, tourism, landcare and environmental management.

Satellite Imagery, in most cases, is a digital image collected by a sensor on a satellite orbiting the earth. These sensors receive information across different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum and then return this information in the form of an image. These images can then be used to view features on the earth, such as land use, mineral deposits and bush fire damage.
