Land Victoria Lodging Book

The Land Victoria Lodging Book contains up-to-date examples of various transactions under the Transfer of Land Act 1958, Subdivision Act 1988 and other Acts related to land dealings in Victoria.

It provides details of documents that need to be lodged in support of common dealing types. The Lodging Book also includes a useful glossary of terms and an index to enable easy access to the information contained in the book.

The Lodging Book comprises five sections: Section 1 General Information, Section 2 Approved Forms, Section 3 Transfer of Land Act, Section 4 Subdivision Act and Section 5 Associated Acts.

The Lodging Book is a guide to preparing the formal requirements of regular dealing types and documents lodged at Land Victoria; it does not contain advice on the content of such documents. Note

From 1 May 2010, the Transfer of Land Act 1958 and the Subdivision Act 1988 were amended by the Land Legislation Amendment Act 2009.

Not all the amendments and practice changes are included in this version of the Lodging Book. However, a description of the amendments and practice changes can be found in Customer Information Bulletin 122. 

All forms referred to in Section 2 - Approved Forms are now available online on this website - see the Forms, guides and fees pages.

Section 4 - Subdivision Act 1988 has been updated (November 2012) to include changes to requirements under the Subdivision (Registrar's Requirements) Regulations 2011 and to direct customers to the current forms to be used.  The forms are available online on this website - see the Forms, guides and fees pages.
