Goulburn Forest Management Plan
The Benalla-Mansfield Forest Management Area within the Goulburn District is contained within the North East Forest Management Plan.
North East Forest Management Plan
The North East Forest Management Plan establishes management principles for the balanced use and care of the State forest according to ecologically sustainable forest management principles.The Plan details how the Department will manage the State forest bounded by the Murray River in the north, the Hume Highway to the west and the Great Dividing Range in the south; an area of 697 000 hectares.
The Plan provides strategies to maintain or enhance forest ecosystems, water supply, and ensure environmental and cultural values are protected whilst timber production, recreation and other uses continue to benefit local communities.
The Plan is a key DEPI document that will be used as a guide to achieve Ecological Sustainable Development in the forests of the North East Forest Management Area.
