Aircraft Delivery System Program (ADSP)

Investigating, evaluating and providing specialist advice in the operation and use of aerial delivery systems for fire fighting purposes.

Introduction
Welcome to the Aircraft Delivery System Program (ADSP) of the State Aircraft Unit. (SAU) Victoria Australia.
The SAU has developed a high standard in business and service delivery for aerial fire fighting; the ADSP is an integral part of the SAU. The ADSP is recognised as conducting innovative, practical and focused investigations and evaluations servicing the needs of natural resource managers and fire authorities, in Victoria, Australia and Internationally.

The ADSP is an investigative and evaluation program that specialises in aerial delivery systems for fire fighting aircraft. Working with the aviation industry, delivery system manufacturers, government and other organisations, ADSP provides technical information and practical solutions to enable effective application of delivery systems for wildfire suppression. In particular, ADSP has demonstrated expertise in delivery system design, drop flow management and drop pattern effectiveness.

 


Objectives
The objectives of the Aircraft Delivery System Program are to:
1. Acquire knowledge and understanding of the operation performance of aerial delivery systems
2. Discover and develop principles necessary for effective evaluation and application of aerial delivery systems and their use.
3. Disseminate results in appropriate forms and in a timely manner to all potential stakeholders and clients.
To achieve the program objectives, the ADSP shall:
1. Conduct or support research in work projects that have been approved by the SAU.
2. Maintain effective relationships between the ADSP and other programs of the SAU, public and private agencies,
and cooperating organisations,interested in delivery system development and research.
3. Provide program participants with an opportunity for frequent consultations with other aerial delivery systems program managers.
4. Ensure that adequate facilities and management are established and maintained to assist in the development of the ADSP.
