Box Hill Central Activites District

In the Melbourne @ 5 million policy document released in December 2008, Box Hill was announced as one of six Central Activities Districts (CADs). About Box Hill Box Hill is an important location because it is a major residential and commercial hub and has: One of Melbourne’s biggest transport interchanges A diverse mix of land uses, with two major hospitals, two shopping centres, a TAFE, restaurants and offices Recent major developments, include: A 186-bed Epworth Eastern Hospital Expansion of Box Hill TAFE New Centro Whitehorse Shopping Centre Box Hill Projects Over $2 million from the Victorian Government and the City of Whitehorse has been spent on planning and improvements including: Upgrades of the Market and Main Street Malls Preparation of the Structure Plan $22 million was spent on extending the Route 109 tram from Mont Albert to Box Hill in 2003. The City of Whitehorse has developed a vision for the future development of the city in the Box Hill Activity Centre Structure Plan 2007.
