Securing our natural future: land and biodiversity white paper
Information in relation to Securing Our Natural Future: Land and Biodiversity White Paper is currently being reviewed to ensure it aligns with new government priorities and approaches.
While many elements of Securing Our Natural Future reflect current practice and legislative frameworks, the Victorian Government has previously announced that certain aspects of the White Paper would not be implemented, such as the mergers of Victoria’s 10 Catchment Management Authorities.
Other important elements outlined in the White Paper are being re-assessed, and will be integrated into future approaches for natural resource management throughout the state where appropriate.
These elements include building the resilience of Victoria’s ecosystems, managing flagship areas to maintain vital ecosystem services, and improving connectivity within important landscapes identified as biolinks.
