What is Coastcare?

Coastcare Victoria proudly supports thousands of community volunteer groups working to protect and enhance Victoria's 2000 kilometres of coastline. Community volunteer groups help to maintain our marine and coastal environment, through activities such as revegetating coastal areas, building boardwalks, fencing, building tracks, monitoring native shorebirds and animals, presenting education and awareness raising sessions, plantings, landscaping coastal areas and protecting cultural sites. |

Get involved There will always be a need for dedicated volunteers on our coast, and there are roles for people of all ages, interests and abilities. To join a community group or learn more about our magnificent coastal and marine environment, contact a Coastcare facilitator.

Summer by the Sea 300 free events will be held in 80 locations to celebrate Victoria’s coast in the annual Summer by the Sea festival. Summer by the Sea provides an opportunity to discover and appreciate the natural wonders of Victoria’s coastal and marine environments. |

Grants Community groups and networks will be eligible to apply for grants of up to $50,000 to deliver projects that protect the ecological character of Victoria's coastal ecosystems. |

Skills and Networks Organising regional and statewide opportunities that increase community members' revegetation, weed control, dune erosion stabilisation, skills and facilitate networking among individuals |
