Water Corporation boards seeking applications
23 February, 2012
Expressions of interest are now open for 55 board director positions, including seven chairs, for the 19 regional and metropolitan water corporation boards.
The Department of Sustainability and Environment’s Rural Water and Governance Executive Director Campbell Fitzpatrick said people with the appropriate skills and particularly regional customers are encouraged to apply for a position on their local board.
“There are many highly skilled people in regional Victoria who would be an asset to a board of their local water corporation,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.
“Local people understand the issues that customers in their area are facing and can make a difference to the delivery of local water services.
“We are looking for strong customer representation on water corporation boards and value the insight local customers bring to boards.”
Under Board direction, water corporations must build strong partnerships with their communities and customers, to deliver high quality and sustainable water services to their regions.
