On Board - governance
Most of Victoria's environmental resources are managed by agencies which are established and operate under laws made by Parliament. These agencies manage water, public land, and other natural resources on behalf of the Victorian government. They are accountable through their minister to parliament. DEPI supports and oversees these agencies on behalf of the responsible ministers. It is 'an extension of the minister'. On Board is the central place for DEPI agencies to access governance information that is tailored to their needs. For easier reading:
- 'board' includes board, committee, council, panel, advisory body, etc.
- 'board member' includes directors, board members, committee members, council members, panel members, etc.
