Permitted areas for scent-trailing hounds and gundogs
The yellow shading on this map shows the area where the hunting of Sambar Deer with scent-trailing hounds and gundogs is permitted in Victoria. Open the PDF file below to view the permitted areas for scent-trailing hounds. Please note that within this area, the hunting of Sambar Deer with scent-trailing hounds or gundogs is prohibited in National Parks, State Parks and other closed areas. You must obtain the land owner's consent to hunt on private and leased public land.
