Survey Practice Handbook
The Survey Practice Handbook is a reference work, in three volumes, which provides best-practice guidance for cadastral surveying in Victoria. It contains a broad spectrum of material, including information on legislation and survey practice, in order to improve the quality and compatibility of survey procedures and practice to ensure the integrity of the Victorian cadastral system.
The Surveyors Board of Victoria publishes the handbook under Section 42 of the Surveyors Act 2004. The handbook was compiled by the previous Surveyors Board of Victoria in collaboration with the Institution of Surveyors, Victoria to provide practice guidelines and standards for plan preparation and surveying procedures, law and administration. The handbook also provides general information on matters relating to cadastral surveying that the Surveyor-General considers to be of value to registered surveyors including the use of Global Positioning System (GPS).
The Survey Practice Handbook is available on the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria web site.
