Central Activities Districts - December 2008
Central Activities Districts will be large suburban centres where housing and commercial development will take place. They will have a wide range of services and jobs similar, but on a smaller scale, to Melbourne's CBD.
Creating Better Places - Urban Improvement Grants 2007-08
The Victorian Government allocated $13.5 million over four years to Creating Better Places (CBP) in the 2005-06 Victorian State Budget. CBP is a grants program that supports Melbourne 2030 initiatives by funding urban improvement projects in principal or major activity centres .

The Victorian Government’s new Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution will help provide new communities with the infrastructure and services they need sooner, while keeping housing affordable.
Investigation Areas and Urban Growth Boundary - December 2008
As part of Melbourne @ 5 million, the Government is taking action to ensure around 20 years land supply for metropolitan Melbourne. This means that the Urban Growth Boundary will need to be moved to include more land within it.

Protecting the suburbs - Melbourne 2030, November 2004
Victorian councils are able to apply for height controls in residential areas and neighbourhood centres under planning changes announced by the Premier in November 2004. The changes help councils to create more housing choices in established urban centres near shops and transport, and take development pressure off traditional low-rise neighbourhoods.
