The State Government's $290 million funded Revitalising Central Dandenong initiative is rejuvenating the city centre and creating a fresh new future for central Dandenong. The Revitalising Central Dandenong initiative is being delivered by the Victorian Government, through VicUrban, in partnership with the City of Greater Dandenong. Revitalising Central Dandenong will deliver new investment and development in central Dandenong, including the following major projects:
Work on each of these major projects is now well underway in accordance with the Urban Master Plan prepared for the city centre. Key targets for the Dandenong CAD projects include:
Dandenong Projects The Dandenong Development Board was set up to initiate the revitalisation of central Dandenong and the Greater Dandenong area. It has representatives from state government, the City of Greater Dandenong and local businesses. With the revitalisation of central Dandenong now well underway, the Dandenong Development Board is focusing on the complementary social and economic issues in the broader area. The Board is working with stakeholders to address a wide range of issues, including employment, workforce training, youth health, multicultural service provision and community building.
