Joseph Road Precinct - Footscray
The advice of the Priority Development Panel was sought in relation to implementation of the Joseph Road Urban Design Framework (UDF) and Structure Plan. Specifically the advice sought was in relation to:

  • Implementation of the objectives for Transit Cities and Council's vision for the site as set out in the (re)Visioning Footscray Project
  • Drafting of a Priority Development Zone (PDZ) schedule to give effect to the Joseph Road Precinct UDF and Structure Plan
  • Process options for facilitating an amendment to the Maribyrnong Planning Scheme to introduce the PDZ
  • Any other matter, issue or action that should be taken.

Amendment C78 to the Maribyrnong Planning Scheme was approved on 17 April 2009 to rezone the western side of the Joseph Road Precinct to a Priority Development Zone (PDZ2), insert a new Schedule 2 to the PDZ and apply the Environmental Audit Overlay.
