Making local policy stronger
Making local policy stronger is an independent report by a Ministerial working group that sets out an action plan to progressively improve the operation of local policy in planning schemes. The actions will be implemented by the Government over the next 12 months. View the Minister's media release of 12 October, 2007.

Local policy review teams
Local government can ask for an expert team to improve existing local polices so they are clear, concise and unambiguous. 12 councils have so far asked for a team to be appointed. To arrange for a team, contact Planning Panels Victoria.

Cutting red tape in planning progress report.

The Cutting red tape in planning review was conducted to determine a range of improvements to the planning system. The 15 recommended actions range from ‘expanding e-planning capacity’ to ‘make state policy more relevant to local decision making’. Some of the proposed actions can be carried out immediately and others involve intensive investigation and examination.
