Preston Central Activity Centre and Market
The Priority Development Panel (PDP) has considered a request by Darebin Council for interim structure plan controls, and a subsequent request for authorisation for an amendment to introduce permanent controls for the Preston Central Activity Centre, including consideration of the proposed redevelopment of Preston Central Market.
The PDP process for this referral:
- Initial presentation to the PDP by Darebin Council and Preston Market Developments Pty Ltd in October 2006 on background and to discuss the inquiry process.
- Workshops and focus groups with Council and the project proponent commencing in November 2006 and progressing through December 2006 and January 2007.
- Meeting with key stakeholders in December 2006. Written submissions provided by mid January 2007.
- Further workshops with Council and proponent in January and February 2007 to further refine the draft planning controls and redevelopment concepts as required.
