The EES process was completed when the Minister for Planning released his Assessment of the proposed Mortlake Power Station in July 2006.
Project History
On 10 January 2005, the Minister for Planning determined that an EES was required for the proposed Mortlake Power Station.
The EES and Amendment C20 to the Moyne Planning Scheme were placed on public exhibition from 17 November 2005 to 12 January 2006.
The Minister for Planning appointed an inquiry panel jointly under the Environment Effects Act 1978 and Planning and Environment Act 1987. Please refer to the Inquiry Panel Report.
Project Description
The project involves the development of a gas fired power station at site near Mortlake, in south-west Victoria. The proposal includes the installation of gas turbines and associated infrastructure in two stages, the construction of an underground gas pipeline between the site and the Otway Gas Plant near Port Campbell, and water pipelines to deliver water to the site.
