Glenelg Eden
Initiatives Home
| The Glenelg Eden Project aims to reduce the impact of weeds on environmental values and natural assets on public land throughout the Glenelg region. The project will target new and emerging weed infestations in State forest and National Parks, and will also undertake general weed control at a number of identified high value sites. High value sites have been identified in the Lower Glenelg National Park, Discovery Bay Coastal Park, Crawford River Regional Park, Narrawong Flora Reserve, Cape Nelson State Park and Rennick State Forest. The Glenelg Eden Project began in 2007, and will continue until 2011. The project will adopt a similar approach to the Otway Weed Project (now Otway Eden) implementing the Guidelines and Procedures for Managing the Environmental Impacts of Weeds on Public Land in Victoria 2007. The project is a partnership between DSE and Parks Victoria. |
