Otways Eden
Initiatives Home
The Otways Eden Project aims to reduce the impact of weeds on environmental values and natural assets on public land throughout the Otways region.
The project targets new and emerging weed infestations in State forest and National Parks, and also undertakes general weed control at a number of identified high value sites.
The project extends from Torquay to Port Campbell along the coast, and inland towards the Princes Highway. It covers 150,000 hectares of public land across several tenures.
The Otways Eden Project began in 2004. The project uses a similar approach to the Glenelg Eden, implementing the Guidelines and Procedures for Managing the Environmental Impacts of Weeds on Public Land in Victoria 2007.
The project is a partnership between DSE and Parks Victoria.
