Actions for Biodiversity Conservation (ABC)

The recovery of threatened species and communities requires us to take action - we must do the right action at the right location at the right time (year/season) in the right manner. These actions are documented in Action Statements prepared under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988 and in Recovery Plans prepared under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

The Department of Sustainability and Environment has developed a web-based information system to store, update and retrieve information about actions to recover threatened species and communities: the Actions for Biodiversity Conservation system, or ABC for short.

The ABC is not currently available to the public; the main users of the system are DSE staff and staff of land management agencies and planning authorities like Catchment Management Authorities.
