Environmental Charter - Policy for Victoria's State Forests

As part of the Victorian government's Our Forests, Our Future policy statement on forests, the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) committed to developing an Environmental Management System (EMS) for the sustainable management of Victoria's State forests.

An EMS will provide a systematic framework and process to assist DSE in identifying and managing significant environmental impacts that may occur as a result of forest activities. As part of the initiatives to achieve an EMS, DSE released an Environmental Policy for Victoria's State forests. The Environmental Policy provides a statement of DSE's role and responsibilities in managing Victoria's State forest.
