Permits

Permits are generally required for any commercial activities in Victoria's State forests, such as timber use and harvesting, and the hosting of events and tours. However permits are also required for some non-commercial activities, including domestic firewood collection and research.

Tour operators offering outdoor travel adventure or educational tours on public land areas in Victoria on a commercial basis must hold a current permit.

A forests research permit is required for any research in State Forest in Victoria

Commercial Products
The Sustainable Forest (Timber Harvesting) Regulations 2006 require anyone engaged in commercial timber harvesting in Victoria's State forests to hold a Timber Harvesting Operator's Licence (THOL).
