Timber Release Plans
Timber Release Plans (TRP) are publicly available documents that detail the location, nature and approximate timing of timber harvesting by VicForests, including the location of associated access roads. They are part of the Allocation Order defined by the Sustainable Forests (Timber) Act 2004 that ensures that forests are managed in a sustainable manner.
Where VicForests intends to harvest allocated timber, it prepares a Timber Release Plan that includes coupe details and maps. New Timber Release Plans and changes to existing plans are submitted to the Secretary, DSE, who approves these plans.
Notices of these approvals are published in the Victoria Government Gazette, along with details of where to view supporting information. The following approvals have been published:
- Special Government Gazette S270, 6 August 2009
- Special Government Gazette S176, 9 June 2009
For further information about the changes made to the Timber Release Plans, go to the VicForests website.
