Forest Management Plans
Forest Management Plans are developed with experts from disciplines such as forestry, botany, wildlife biology, catchment management, water resources, cultural heritage and recreation planning. Information on the uses and values of the forest (including natural, cultural, social, resource and economic) informs the planning process. The Management Plans are also based on the biological, social and cultural data present in the Comprehensive Regional Assessments (CRA) and in the Statements of Resources, Uses and Values.

Public participation is integral to the development of the Plans. The public are invited to participate in the planning process in several ways, including attending public workshops and forums, and commenting on a Proposed Plan once it has been published. DSE seeks to ensure that the Plans appropriately address issues raised by a wide range of interested groups and individuals during the planning process.
