Proposed Forests (Licences and Permits) Regulations 2009 - Draft Exposure
The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) seeks your feedback on the proposed Forests (Licences and Permits) Regulations 2009 and the associated Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS).
The objectives of the proposed Forests (Licences and Permits) Regulations 2009 are to:
- set conditions for the use of State forests, for example firewood collection, cattle grazing and beekeeping
- provide for certain offences in State forests.
The RIS has been prepared to assess the costs and benefits of the proposed regulations and feasible alternatives. It concludes that the proposed regulations are the most appropriate means of achieving the objectives.
The RIS has been assessed by the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission (VCEC). Their assessment is based on the adequacy of the information and the quality of the data provided in the RIS. The VCEC's memo of approval is attached below.

All comments must be in writing and must be received by no later than 5:00 pm on 28 October 2009.
