Capel Sound Foreshores Reserve Coastal Management Plan
| The Capel Sound Foreshores Reserve Management Plan has been prepared by the Capel Sound Foreshores Reserve Committee of Management in consultation with the Department of Sustainability & Environment (DSE) to provide a vision for the management of the Capel Sound Foreshores Reserve for the next three years under the Coastal Management Act 1995. The Vision for Capel Sound Foreshores is to manage the Reserve to enhance and maintain its natural values, whilst providing for a range of recreational opportunities within a sustainable environmental, economic and social framework. Key recommendations of the plan include allowing year-round camping in the sections of foreshore opposite Chatfield Avenue and Rose Street and Burdett and Carmichael streets, upgrading of toilet blocks, redeveloping the old Leonard Street boat ramp as a car park area and reviewing informal car parking throughout the reserve. The plan also provides for habitat protection, including revegetation and replacement of pine trees with indigenous plants. Please note: Document(s) on this page are presented in PDF format.
