Demographic research aims to improve understanding of the main drivers of urban and regional change to underpin the planning of our cities, towns and regions. The Department of Planning and Community Development undertakes research and analysis to better inform decision makers and communities about key issues such as demography and land development.

Victoria In Future

Victoria in Future 2008
Population projections for Victoria and its local government areas published by DSE under the title of Victoria in Future 2008. They cover total populations, age structure and households, and extend to 2056 for Victoria, the metropolitan area and Regional Victoria. As well, they cover total population for all Victorian local government areas and dwelling data for metropolitan local government areas.
